This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Quilters Anonymous (“QA”) collects, uses, and maintains information collected from users (each, a “User”) of its websites (the “Sites”). This privacy policy applies to the Sites and all services and products offered by QA.

What information do we collect about you? 

We collect personal information from you when you register as a member either online or on a paper form, sign up for or participate in a guild event (workshop/day camp/retreat, etc.), enter a show, respond to surveys or other questionnaires, submit payments, or access our additional online services, such as GSuite and www.quiltersanonymous.com through Wild Apricot Association Management Software.  Website usage information may be collected using cookies. 

How will we use the information about you? 

We collect information about you to process your membership application, communicate with you and manage your membership account. We also use it to publish annually a printed roster that is distributed to members, and to make available to members an electronic roster on the Sites.  Information provided on quilt show entry forms is used to create signage and the show catalogue.  We use information from surveys and similar information and opinion gathering methods as part of our guild operations.  Your information is shared with our postal service to deliver your newsletter.

Payment processes

Payment processing services enable our Sites to process payments by credit card, bank transfer or other means.  To ensure greater security, the payment processing services enabled on our Sites by Wild Apricot shares only the information necessary to execute the transaction with the financial intermediaries handling the transaction.  Some of these services may also enable the sending of timed messages to the Users, such as emails containing invoices or notifications concerning the payment.

Marketing of QA

Your information, including photographs or other images, may be used for promoting QA on Social Media (Facebook, the public QA website, etc.), on other marketing platforms, at quilt shows or other exhibitions, guild events and guild meetings and in our newsletter. 

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users’ personal identification information to others.  We may use third party service providers to help us operate our guild and the Sites or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes.

Updating and restricting access to your personal information

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You can log into your account at www.quiltersanonymous.org and update your contact details at any time.  You can also choose what details you wish to share with other members in the privacy settings on your profile.  Alternatively, you may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

Protection of your personal information

We rely on the security protocols of our third-party service providers, such as Wild Apricot, to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or use.  To ensure security and privacy of your data, Wild Apricot provides traffic encryption (https) capability.  Traffic encryption ensures that data entered into the online forms as well as data transferred from Wild Apricot servers back to visitors is protected from snooping, for example if you access internet over an insecure WiFi connection.

Wild Apricot’s hosting provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS), is the world’s largest cloud provider, offering a robust and reliable platform. In addition to this, a member can choose which data is available for review by other QA members.  No member data will be shared with the public except in the limited circumstances described above under “Marketing of QA.”

Protection of junior members’ privacy

In order to protect the privacy of its junior members, QA does not collect any personal identification information about junior members other than their name.  Contact information for the adult sponsor of the junior member is used for all communications with junior members, and it is the responsibility of the sponsor to pass on relevant information to the junior member whom they have sponsored.

Third party websites

Users may find content on our site that link to the sites and services of third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our site, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Changes to this privacy policy

QA has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. We encourage Users to regularly check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.  You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using our Sites, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Sites. Your continued use of the Sites following any changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
