QA Quilt Show Docent Tour: Art of Machine Quilting |
Come early to the QA show on Saturday, March 14, 2026 or Sunday, March 15, 2026, and take part in a guided tour led by Cathryn Scott, highlighting the Art of Machine Quilting. Quilting does more than hold the layers together - it's a powerful design tool. You'll discover how the design, style, and density of quilting can enhance the quilt top, create emphasis in open spaces, and draw the eye to key elements. Quilting has evolved into an art form, ranging from subtle enhancements to fully custom masterpieces. As we walk through the show and view stunning examples, we'll explore three distinct machine quilting styles. If you are not a quilter and enjoy textile art, surface design, or simply the beauty of stitched patterns, you’ll find plenty of inspiration. If you are a quilter, whether you quilt your own tops or have them quilted by someone else, you'll come away with practical tips to help you choose the quilting approach that best supports your final vision. |
